Running PsiWin via IR in Windows 2000 & XP

Microsoft changed the implementation of Infrared in Windows 2000 (and now Windows XP) so that IrOBEX protocol is used by default instead of IrCOMM.

IrCOMM protocol emulates a serial or parallel connection over infrared and installs a Virtual IR COM port (serial) and Virtual IR LPT port (parallel) in the PC. PsiWin should detect the Virtual IR COM port so that it can be selected in the PsiWin Properties dialog box.

To use PsiWin over Infrared with Win 2000 or XP, it is necessary to install a patch to implement IrCOMM and this is available from www.ircomm2k.de/ This is a German site but the author also has an English language page.

The version to use is the Beta 2 release of IrCOMM2k 2.0.0 in this file [IrCOMM2k]
